Build bridges between Home and School
Education Team projects bring together families and teachers to learn to win together. Education Team events usually take place in the evening at the school.
The goal of Education Team is to improve communication and cooperation among students, their parents and teachers in order to increase academic achievement and personal success. Building a connection between school and home provides a more stable and consistent learning environment. Family Team uses a combination of EnTeam activities, debriefing sessions and dinners to develop better relationships, forge partnerships and achieve its goals. The basic structure is simple and successful when led by skillful facilitators:
A. Parents / guardians bring their families to evening or weekend events with teachers to build bridges between home and school.
B. Teachers and parents build relationships that enable them to work together to meet the needs of students by talking over a meal together.
C. Students do EnTeam activities that are fun and require the use of academic skills such as measuring, computing, constructing, and working together.
D. Students learn to lead the activities with teachers and parents.
E. Students, parents, and teachers debrief the process with the guidance of the EnTeam facilitators.
